RT 420: Intervention Techniques in Recreational Therapy

In RT 420: Intervention Techniques in Recreational Therapy, I studied various physical, cognitive, and social interventions used in recreational therapy. The course focused on body mechanics, group facilitation, activity modification, and connecting interventions to specific diagnostic groups. In this course, I practiced leading individual and group interventions during our lab. Coursework included conducting an activity analysis, creating an RT intervention protocol, and writing an article critique. These projects allowed me to demonstrate my ability to critically assess activities for therapeutic potential and to implement RT interventions that align with professional standards.

The attached file is a group facilitation plan I created with a partner. We were given a topic by our professor and created a 30 minute group session. We outlined goals, roles, and adaptations to meet the needs of our participants. Completing this assignment help me build confidence in leading therapeutic activities, strengthened my teamwork skills, and improved my activity planning skills.
