Community Engagement
This page highlights some of my community-engaged experiences both in and out of class. It features course-based hands-on learning experiences, volunteer work, and my professional development opportunities.

ODU Mighty Monarchs Adapted Sports Program
The Mighty Monarchs Adapted Sports Program is a community based adapted sports program for youth with physical disabilities. The program allows the youth to participate in adapted sports throughout the school year. As a volunteer, I was tasked with facilitating stations and interacting with paired participants, while also encouraging them to participate in the planned activities and engage with other participants.

Lambda Eta chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. In my chapter, I serve as the Internal Audit Chair as well as a member of multiple committees including the Arts & Letters Committee, Hospitality Committee, and the Program Planning and Development Committee.

Chesapeake Parks & Recreation Monster Mash 2023
The Monster Mash is a Halloween themed special event hosted by the Chesapeake Parks and Recreation Therapeutic Recreation program. As a volunteer for this event, I was tasked with working alongside my classmates to plan and implement adapted recreation stations for the attendees to participate in.

Queen In You ODU
Queen In You is a national collegiate organization with the purpose of advancing women of color through mentorship, social events, fundraising and community service. At ODU, I serve on the Executive Board as one of the organization's Event Coordinators.

ODU TRiO Jumpstart Ambassador
TRiO Jumpstart is a freshman orientation program held during the summer that welcomes first year TRiO SSS Students to ODU and the TRiO SSS Program. As an ambassador, I serve as a mentor and resource for the incoming students.

YMCA Blue Ridge Leadership School
Blue Ridge Leaders’ School's mission is to provide youth and adults training in the principles and philosophy of YMCA for the purpose of developing teaching and performance skills, building self esteem and, developing leadership qualities. I served as a member of the Manchester YMCA Leaders' Club for 6 years, serving as President, Vice President, and Secretary, and attended Blue Ridge Leaders' School twice.
